The Discipleship Process
Sunday, January 24, 2010
The disciplemaking process takes place through accountable relationships over time for the purpose of bringing believers to maturity in Christ. Babies grow because of the community of the family it is in. A child learns what is acceptable and what is unacceptable by being accountable to parents. The child takes on the character of the family that nurtures it. A child nurtured with love and discipline will most likely grow to love and live a life of discipline. Jesus was discipling in John 16:33, by preparing his disciples for the world they live in.
